Every Woman Deserves a Doula....
This is especially true with adoption and birth mothers who are going through one of the most difficult times in their life. The role of an adoption doula is to provide support and information to the birth mother before, during and after the birth experience. She is given the same choices, support and encouragement as every other woman. We believe that birth and how it is experienced and remembered is a very important aspect of the adoption process.
What you can expect from your Adoption Doula :
- Your doula is trained and informed about the adoption process/law in Colorado
- Information & education about the birth process & choices for labor
- Private Child Birth Education Classes
- Support your wishes for labor and help you create a birth plan
- Continuous labor support starting at home or the hospital
- Birth Photography which includes a CD and/or copies of photos
- Post Partum Support up to 12 weeks
- A Doula never replaces your counselor or adoption agency
Tammy and Terri have experience in the field of adoption and feel passionate that birth mothers should have the same choices and support. Having a doula focused on the birth mother and her needs can ensure that the birth process is not forgotten in adoption planning. When birth families are supported outcomes for everyone are improved. Prepartion and support help improve postpartum outcomes and create a more positive experience for both birth parents and adoptive parents.
Our fees for this service are flexible and are usually covered by the adoption agency or adoptive family.
$500 for birth doula services - this includes birth planning, prenatal visits, birth support and postpartum support
Additional cost for photos and child birth classes:
Photography - $75
Child Birth Classes 3 hours private instruction - $120
