 A little about us....

Tammy Brannen-Smith, LCSW, CD (DONA): Birth is one of the most important life experiences and one that we never forget.  We tell our birth stories over and over to our friends, family and children.  As a doula, I want every woman and her partner to know they have choices for their birth and with gentle support and encouragement they will be able to write a beautiful birth story.
My desire to become a doula has grown over the years through my own birth experiences and those of my friends and family.   My own experiences were enriched with the support of my partner and also my best friend Terri at my side.   My journey to motherhood included a struggle with infertility and now I feel so blessed to finally have 3 beautiful children including 5 year old twins.
In addition to my experience as a doula, I have worked with families and children as a licensed professional counselor for over 10 years.  As a doula and counselor I have enjoyed working with parents of multiples, premature infants, infertility and adoption.  Each of these experiences has deepened my appreciation for the natural supports we all have around us, including family, friends and faith.
With over 25 years of friendship, and the shared birth stories of our six children, Terri and I feel honored to work together and share our support and care as doulas with other women.
I live in Loveland, CO and work in the area from North Denver to Cheyenne, Wyoming.  I have experience in most hospitals and have also had home birth experience.  I would love to talk to you about your upcoming birth and answer any questions you might have about my services.  I can be reached at (970-290-6932).

Terri Burleson, CD (DONA):  I am the mother to three wonderful children ages 13, 9 and 6. I've been married for 17 years and have enjoyed being a stay at home mom for the last 10 years. After experiencing my own births and those of my close friends I was drawn to work as a doula. Through these experiences I gained a deeper appreciation for the value of caring, nurturing support during labor. I was fortunate enough to deliver all of my children naturally and realize this could not have happened without the consistent support of my husband and dear friend, Tammy.
I have had the opportunity to attend a variety of births including medicated, non-medicated, mulitiples and home-birth and I feel passionate about a woman's power and ability to have the kind of birth experience she longs for. Birth is a beautiful, powerful and natural event. I believe that during labor, a mom needs to surround herself with people that believe in her ability and trust her body and I am always honored when chosen to be a part of that team. I also have a special place in my heart for helping families incorporate their Christian faith in their pregnancy and birth.
I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to work with my friend, Tammy, assisting other moms in creating a positive birth experience.
I work throughout the Denver area and into Boulder and Longmont and have worked in most of the area hospitals.  You can contact me at 303-349-7436.  I would be happy to talk to you by phone or set up a meeting to talk to you about my doula services.

As doulas, we are committed to honoring and supporting you and your family.

Deep within every woman is the ability to birth. When she has confidence in her own abilities,
the encouragement and freedom to tap into her own innate wisdom, and has the
loving support of family, friends, and professionals who believe this too,
she will truly have a satisfying birth experience.
